That followed the land having been placed in federal trust in February 2017 and then-Governor Jerry Brown and the Tribe signing a Gaming Compact, the California State Senate and Assembly then unanimously ratified that compact. The $400 million casino project, which is being built on 35.9 acres of land west of Hwy 99, was approved by the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) back in 2019. The new casino is scheduled to open in the second half of 2022 and PokerNews has confirmed there are plans for a 12-table poker room. Earlier this week, the Wilton Rancheria tribe and Boyd Gaming broke ground on Sky River Casino in Elk Grove, California.
